Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Hacienda de San Antonio located and what is the best way to get there?

The nearest airport is the Colima National Airport which is a 40-minute drive from the Hacienda; there are daily flights to Colima from Mexico City airport. The nearest international airports are Manzanillo International Airport, which is a 2 hour drive away, and Guadalajara International Airport which is 3 hours away. We have SUV´s for ground transfers, and private plane charters can also be arranged.

Is it possible to fly privately to the Hacienda?

Yes, it is possible, we have a 1,300-meter grass airstrip at our ranch. We can assist in arranging private charters in single or twin-engine planes. Please note, it is not possible for planes to stay overnight as we do not have an aircraft hangar.

What security do you have in place?

We are in a remote location in the Colima Mountains, and have never had any issues regarding security of our guests. There is 24-hour security monitoring the entire property, and security gates to enter the Hacienda as well as Rancho Jabalí; furthermore, there is also a security guard stationed inside the Hacienda at all times.

Discretion is of the utmost importance, and our staff is trained to not reveal any information about the guests of the hotel.

What is the climate like, and what is the best time of the year to visit?

Throughout most of the year we enjoy sunny skies and warm days (Avg. 75ºF) along with fresh nights and mornings (Avg. 63ºF). Our rainy season is from June to November when rain can be expected most days, however when the clouds do give way golden sunlight illuminates some of the lushest landscape guests can encounter in this area. From November to March is our winter season, characterized by the same vibrant green landscapes with cool days and brisk night temperatures calling for pants, shoes and a good coat whilst outside. Otherwise this time of year provides all the right inspiration to settle into one of the many living spaces near a crackling fire in the evening hours.

How many restaurants are there at the property?

There are two restaurants:

  • The main dining room which is open from 8am to 10:30pm
  • The pool pavilion, open from 1pm to 5pm

Additionally, there are many special locations around the Hacienda where we would be delighted to set up dinner upon request, for an additional cost.

Do you have phone reception and wi-fi?

Being an ecologically focused property amidst the Colima Mountains there are no cell towers, thus we do not have any cell phone reception, however we do have open wi-fi service throughout all public areas and all suites. The hotel also has a landline should you need to make a phone call by means other than via Wi-Fi.

What activities are available and how can they be booked?

Our front office team is completely at your service to book all of the activities and answer any questions regarding them. In your room you will find the guest directory where you can read about all of the activities we offer. We can also send the directory in advance so you can book prior to your arrival. Additionally, via the ‘recreation’ webpage you can see and learn much more about what we offer.

Are children welcome and what activities are offered for young guests?

Children are most welcome! As part of making you feel completely at home, we have many options the entire family can enjoy and of course in your room we can set up extra beds, cribs and any toiletries your children may need. Children can enjoy horseback riding, visiting the farms, bike-riding, painting classes, hiking, exploring the gardens, baking classes, and much more.

How far is the nearest hospital?

We have an on-call doctor who can visit the property for any minor medical attention you may need. The nearest hospital is a 30-minute drive away, and for severe emergencies a helicopter air-lift can also be arranged at a moment’s notice.

What is the recommended packing list?

Comfort is key! Pack walking shoes, jeans, comfortable casual clothes for the daytime, and don’t forget a bathing suit! For evenings spent lounging in one of the inviting living spaces of the hotel, meeting other guests and dinner service in the dining or club room, dressing to a degree of smart casual to match the Hacienda’s elegant evening settings is perfect.

During our winter season (Nov.- Mar.) bring a sweater and jacket, it becomes chilly during the night and early morning.

If you wish to enjoy any outdoor activities during our rainy season(which can be quite invigorating and beautiful), we recommend a waterproof jacket and shoes for your convenience.
